The Judicial Service of Ghana is the judicial branch of government in Ghana. Since the adoption of the country's 1992 Constitution, the Judicial Service has been at the forefront of the administration and dispensation of justice in Ghana. The judiciary has been the pillar and fulcrum around which Ghana's young democracy has revolved. It is made up of the Superior Courts of Judicature, comprising the Supreme Court; the Court of Appeal; and the High Court; and the Lower Courts, made up of the Circuit Courts, the District Courts and Juvenile and other tribunals. The Chief Justice of Ghana is both the administrative and judicial head of the Judicial Service of Ghana. The Judicial Secretary, an appointed official, assists the Chief Justice in the day to day running of the Judicial Service.

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) was established in 1961 as a joint Ghana Government/United Nations (UN) special fund project as one of the key strategic institutions to develop the public administrative system, to provide civil servants with administrative and professional competence, and to plan and administer national, regional and local services. The faculty of law at GIMPA was established in 2010 and has quickly grown from its small size of about seventy students to boasting of well over four hundred students and twenty-six full time faculty in addition to fourteen adjuncts. We prepare our students to be the best attorneys and advocates by combining mainstream theoretical training with clinical programs. In the short five years of its existence, GIMPA Law has been a place of choice and continues to provide the best environment for the study of the law and its future practice.
Fordham Law School has provided a complete education in the law for more than a century. While the legal profession has changed during that time, the core mission of a Fordham Law education has not. We value academic excellence, the pursuit of justice, and the ethical practice of the lawyer’s craft. Fordham lawyers are dedicated to the highest standards of the legal profession and using the law “in the service of others.” We call this the Fordham Law Difference.
